God's Book of Prayer Review

This book was a good read for me, “God’s Book of Prayer” is exactly what you would expect. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Book Sneeze in exchange for an honest review. The prayers come from nine different categories: Blessing Prayers, Confession Prayers, Prayers for Insight, Petition Prayers, Prayers of Praise, Response Prayer, Statement Prayers, Prayers of Thanks and Prayers of Worship. It mentions that one’s heart must be in the right condition for prayer. You need the right attitudes, behaviors, and conditions, for successful prayer, this is called the A, B, C’s of the praying. The book also tried to explain why our prayers may go unanswered. There are verses in The Bible that are referenced, for better explanation. My copy was format for Kindle and seemed to be missing something. I would recommend getting the hard copy of this book not the eBook.

Simply Grilling Book Review

Simply Grilling This a fantastic book of recipes! One of the things I found so great was that it is not just meat recipes but recipes for salads, desserts etc. This will be using these great new recipes to entertain this summer. I was happy to see that the ingredients for the recipes are easy to find and usually have on hand. It is stuff you can find in a regular grocery store. Looking through the book and at the recipes and great pictures made me get very hungry, I am excited to try a recipe out tonight! I am so excited to try all of the recipes in this cookbook, it a great resource and one that would be useful for new and experienced cooks. hungry, I am excited to try a recipe out tonight!

Jonathan Falwell’s new book, “1000 DAYS: The Ministry of Christ”.

This is a review of Jonathan Falwell’s new book, “1000 DAYS: The Ministry of Christ”.
This book has 15 chapters, and less than 180 pages, Falwell touches on many different aspects of Jesus’ ministry here on the earth. In doing so, the author’s message is simple — yet simply amazing. Falwell does a great job of providing application & personal illustrations that directly relate to Jesus’ purpose & mission proclaimed throughout the text; yet, the author maintained to keep the main thing the MAIN thing… the book isn’t about the author or even the reader — its about JESUS. Jesus is on display & its refreshing that Falwell doesn’t feel the need to take a provocative approach or voice unorthodox ideas to sell a book.
I would recommend this book as a resource to anyone that is looking to “get back to the basics”. For anyone that would look at this book & find it to be ‘old hat’, I challenge you to humble yourself & consider the possibilities that are packed in the simple message of Jesus as the Son of God that was sent to earth to pay the price for our sin & offer us eternal life.

I review for BookSneeze®

Cliques, Hicks, and Ugly Sticks by KD McCrite

Cliques, Hicks, and Ugly Sticks by KD McCrite Cliques, Hicks, and Ugly Sticks is about an eleven year old girl, April Grace, from Arkansas.  This is the second in the Confessions of April Grace series about a middle-school girl finding it difficult to adjust and transition into high school from elementary school.  April Grace, whose life is filled with little bits of craziness… such as a Grandma with multiple boyfriends, a good friend turned snobby, and a pregnant mother.  I found it a bit farfetched at times.  My 12 year old daughter read this and enjoyed the story.

Your 100 Day Prayer, by John I. Snyder

Your 100 Day Prayer, by John I. Snyder
Your 100 Day Prayer, helps readers to focus their prayers around specific ideas.  This is certainly one of the best daily devotional books I've seen. As the title states, the book guides the reader through 100 days of Bible study, reflection, journaling, and prayer. The idea is to bring the same issue before God for 100 days, practicing persistence in prayer as Christ taught.

Great book for anyone who wants guidance while being disciplined to pray, this is a great start. Each day begins with Scripture before a short devotional leading you into prayer.  It's about learning to slow down in this fast passed world.  There are a variety of issues covered in this book, including anxiety, anger, fear, and finances. It is a 100 day course of soul searching with the goal to understand Gods ways.

This book is for anyone who wants to know and to have a closer relationship with God.  Highly recommended.

Five out of Five Stars

Then Sings My Soul Special Edition

This is a compilation of 150 Christmas, Easter and all-time favorite hymns, recounting on how the author was led to write these wonderful seasonal hymns. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the stories behind some of our most beloved hymns. This book also brought back many memories of the hymns I grew up singing in church. I found that some of the stories behind the hymns to be very powerful.   I’d say that this book is worth taking a look at even if it’s just to glance though it and read the stories behind your particular favorite hymns.  I think it would make a great gift.
